Stanislaw Borowski

A LIFE FOR ART

The artist Stanislaw Borowski, one of the big names in the European studio-glass movement of the late 1970s, achieved a previously unseen quality in his engraved and sculptural works. Compellingly presented in numerous exhibitions, they have reached a wide audience in Europe, Asia, and the USA.

Stanislaw dedicated his life to his art and his family.

His impressive career and enormous uvre of sculptures and engraved pieces inspired us to publish this page, providing insight into his life and work.

Stanislaw plays the multifaceted glassmaking techniques with great virtuosity.

Over the years he developed an intensive complex of works that address human existence and the political issues of his time. At the beginning he made simple glass bodies with a colored overlay.

With consummate skill and using self-made tools, he engraved

his fantasies into the thin glass-skin. With the growing technical possibilities that became available to him over the years, he created complex compositions. In these, he fused mouth-blown and ...

He continued to sound out the technical limits of glassmaking anew and gave the engraved image spatial dimensions.

The reciprocal e ects between engraving and sculpture opened up new possibilities and externalized the artist’s feelings and moods.

Swim in the long river of the world, reflecting the magnificent glow in the sunset. At that time, the mark of the shuttle in the light was like a passing passenger on the boat, or a childish child...
